How to use crutches

Walk with crutches
1. Support the double crutches in front of both sides of the feet to maintain body balance;
2. The top of the two crutches should be pressed on the ribs on both sides as much as possible. Do not use the armpit to directly press on the crutches, straighten the elbow, and support the weight with both hands;
3. Move forward with both turns at the same time;
4. Move the affected limb forward to the same plane between the two crutches;
5. Then swing the normal leg forward and put it in front of the double crutches (double crutches - affected limb - normal leg).
Go up and down steps or stairs
1. If steps or stairs have handrails, try to use handrails. Put the two crutches together and hold them with the hand far away from the handrail of the stairs; Hold the handrail of the stairs with the other hand, and try to get close to the handrail;
2. If there is no handrail on the stairs: hold a crutch in both hands, just as when walking;
3. Climbing the stairs: first strengthen the limbs, then go to the affected limbs and crutches. Go down the stairs: first the sick limb and crutches, then the healthy limb.
